Accessing the IoT Ecosystem

IoT has been an emerging technology for many years. It first appeared on the Gartner Hype Cycle in 2011, with the projected timeframe for mainstream adoption between 2016-2021. While certain types of consumer IoT devices, such as smart speakers, already had tens of millions of units in the market by 2016, overall deployments fell far short of the $4.1T addressable market that analysts predicted.
